The Lab Buildout and Operations Manager, Integration & Test, Amazon Leo, manages the deployment and sustained operation of RF, networking, and system-integration lab environments across Austin, San Diego, and Seattle. The position requires technical proficiency with spectrum analyzers, signal generators, channel emulators, and networking fundamentals like VLANs, routing, and firewalls. Candidates must translate technical needs into BOMs and manage site-specific infrastructure including cooling, grounding, and cabling. The work focuses on creating scalable, production-representative test beds for hardware-in-the-loop environments and multi-device validation within the hardware development domain.
Execute end-to-end lab buildouts for RF and system-integration environments across Austin, San Diego, and Seattle.
Coordinate the deployment of racks, RF infrastructure, test equipment, cabling, power, grounding, and cooling systems.
Support RF lab environments including chambers, antennas, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and related instrumentation.
Manage lab network design and operations including VLANs, routing, switching, firewall access, and test-device isolation.
Translate technical requirements into Bills of Materials (BOMs), purchase requests, vendor quotes, and delivery schedules.
Manage vendor relationships for chamber deployment, electrical work, cooling, and equipment calibration.
Maintain asset inventory, lifecycle tracking, and standardized documentation like rack elevations and runbooks.
Travel to multiple sites to lead critical lab moves, new building bring-ups, and infrastructure deployments.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
5+ years of experience in lab operations, hardware development management, systems development, RF test, network operations, or infrastructure deployment.
Experience building, operating, or maintaining engineering labs, RF labs, network labs, telecom labs, or hardware-in-the-loop environments.
Working knowledge of RF test environments, including chambers, antennas, RF cabling, attenuators, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, or channel emulators.
Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including switching, routing, VLANs, IP addressing, firewall rules, remote access, and lab network segmentation.
