Java AWS AI Lead Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Develop secure, high-quality production code using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and AWS.
• Design and execute creative software solutions and technical troubleshooting for complex business problems.
• Review and debug code written by other engineers to ensure quality and security.
• Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices for code review and testing.
• Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs.
• Provision cloud infrastructure using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Lead and mentor various levels of software engineers within an agile environment.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• 8+ years of strong experience coding in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and AWS.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, Lambda, KMS, ECS, EKS, S3, EMR, Athena, SQS, EventBridge, and PostgresSQL.
• Hands-on experience with cloud provisioning tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching engineers on responsible AI use.
• Advanced understanding of Agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Leadership and mentoring experience, including leading varying levels of Software Engineers.
• Experience working on a large financial payments technology application (preferred).
• Experience utilizing AI in developing secure applications (preferred).
• AWS certified (preferred).
