Java AI AWS Lead Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other team members.
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure Java-based microservices and back-end APIs.
• Own end-to-end DevOps execution including Jenkins/Spinnaker pipelines, release practices, and automated quality gates.
• Define and enforce comprehensive testing strategies across the stack, including unit, contract, and performance testing.
• Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve the operational stability of software systems.
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to probe architectural designs and technical credentials.
• Lead communities of practice to drive awareness and adoption of leading-edge technologies across Software Engineering.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
• Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle, including automation and continuous delivery methods.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
• Strong experience building Java services and APIs (REST/OpenAPI) and familiarity with observability stacks like Splunk or Prometheus.
• Practical experience with data and messaging platforms such as Cassandra and Kafka, and operating applications in Private Cloud or AWS.
