What you'll do

Develop secure, high-quality production code while reviewing and debugging code written by other team members.
Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Own end-to-end DevOps execution including Jenkins/Spinnaker pipelines, release practices, and automated quality gates.
Define and enforce comprehensive testing strategies across the stack, including unit, contract, performance, and resilience testing.
Lead the design and implementation of scalable Java-based microservices and back-end APIs using REST or event-driven patterns.
Identify opportunities to automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve system stability.
Lead evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical applicability.
Lead communities of practice to promote awareness and adoption of leading-edge technologies across the organization.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools with a focus on security and validation.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and secure handling.
Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle, automation, and continuous delivery methods.
Advanced knowledge of agile methodologies, application resiliency, and security within the financial services industry.
Experience building Java-based microservices, REST/OpenAPI APIs, and using observability stacks like Splunk or Prometheus.
Practical experience with data/messaging platforms (Cassandra, Kafka) and cloud hosting (Private Cloud or AWS).
Experience with Android development in Kotlin (preferred).
Experience developing React front-end applications in TypeScript (preferred).
Knowledge of API gateways, service mesh, and multi-region high availability (preferred).
