What you'll do

Develop and support secure, scalable software solutions using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and Kafka.
Build and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven integrations.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architecture decisions for high-availability applications.
Troubleshoot complex issues across cloud infrastructure, application layers, and eventing platforms.
Implement engineering best practices including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and secure coding.
Identify opportunities to automate or eliminate recurring issues to improve operational stability.
Mentor engineers on responsible AI usage, data sensitivity, and secure development standards.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
5+ years of applied experience in software engineering.
Experience with Java and Spring Boot.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, review, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows including data sensitivity and security.
Experience designing and building RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed backend services.
Practical experience developing, deploying, or supporting applications using AWS cloud technologies.
Experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms.
