As a Java AI Lead Software Engineer, Automation and Reliability within the Consumer & Community Banking Deposits Technology team, you will serve as a core technical contributor in an agile environment. What you'll do

Develop and code complex solutions using Java and Python across various applications, services, and platforms.
Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Design and modernize software solutions to improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency on complex platforms.
Build and maintain automation frameworks, internal platforms, and reusable tools for engineering teams.
Conduct performance, resiliency, and chaos testing to validate system behavior under production-like conditions.
Lead engineers through code reviews, provide technical guidance, and promote high engineering standards.
Communicate technical strategy, reliability risks, and delivery progress to product partners and leadership.
Define release readiness checks, quality gates, and validation approaches for cloud-native platforms.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Advanced proficiency in Java as a primary language and Python as a secondary language.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools while ensuring security and performance standards.
Strong hands-on experience designing, coding, debugging, and resolving complex technical problems independently.
Experience leading engineers, raising technical standards, and communicating technical strategy to stakeholders.
Practical experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, relational/NoSQL databases, messaging frameworks, and event-driven architectures.
Experience modernizing cloud-native applications or leading automation-driven engineering initiatives.
Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Blazemeter, Gatling), observability tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana), or cloud certifications (preferred).
