As a Lead Software Engineer within the Corporate technology - Instrument Reference Data team, you will serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver secure, stable, and scalable market-leading products. You will be responsible for developing high-quality production code, troubleshooting complex technical problems, and leading the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve delivery speed and operational outcomes. Your daily work involves building scalable machine learning systems including data pipelines, model training, and monitoring while managing infrastructure through CI/CD and automation. You will utilize a technology stack featuring Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Hibernate, and AWS for cloud-native solutions. Additionally, you will manage large data volumes using SQL and NoSQL while ensuring secure coding practices across microservices architectures to solve critical technical challenges within the firm's business functions.

What you'll do

Design and develop secure, scalable software solutions and high-quality production code.
Review and debug code written by other team members to ensure quality and security.
Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve delivery speed and code quality.
Design and deliver scalable ML systems including data pipelines, model training, deployment, and monitoring.
Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability for software and ML systems.
Lead evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical feasibility.
Lead communities of practice to promote leading-edge technologies like MLOps, LLM patterns, and feature stores.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Experience with microservices architecture and technologies including Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and Hibernate.
Experience building cloud-native solutions on AWS and deploying containerized services like ECS.
Experience processing large data volumes and performing data analysis using SQL/NoSQL.
Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, automation, and secure coding practices including encryption and secrets management.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and understanding responsible AI engineering workflows.
Preferred AWS Certification; preferred experience building production AI/GenAI services and event-driven architecture with Kafka.
