Human Factors Engineer I

What you'll do

• Perform trade studies on system design concepts and provide human factors requirement recommendations to multidisciplinary teams.
• Design task simulation evaluations using software, physical mockups, or predictive modeling tools for design requirements.
• Select and apply appropriate anthropometric modeling tools for design concept analysis.
• Apply descriptive and inferential statistics to analyze human factors data.
• Develop and execute test plans for simulators or flight tests using rating scales and performance measurements.
• Create operational tests and engineering reports to demonstrate compliance with Human Factors certification regulations.
• Develop human error analysis worksheets to substantiate regulatory compliance.
• Establish standards and guides for internal human factors methodologies.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• In a specific technical discipline or broad engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree.
• Experience with basic research methods and the use of human subjects in evaluations and experiments.
• Experience with data analysis methods and familiarity with statistical analysis tools like SPSS or Minitab.
• Aviation/aerospace human factors experience, or being a certified pilot or similar experience.
• Ability to communicate technical and non-technical concepts clearly in written and verbal formats.
• Advanced degree in an engineering-related field (preferred).
• Experience with advanced task analysis, biomechanics, sensation research, simulation software, requirements management tools, or Lean Six Sigma (preferred).
