The role requires expertise in descriptive and inferential statistics, biomechanics, strength modeling, and anthropometric modeling to ensure compliance with human factors certification requirements while developing innovative methods to improve future product development and engineering processes.

What you'll do

  • Make authoritative technical decisions and recommendations based on human factors principles when engineering precedents are limited.
  • Lead complex trade studies and present design recommendations to multidisciplinary teams and upper management.
  • Supervise part-task simulations, physical mockups, and predictive modeling to define detailed design requirements.
  • Execute simulator and flight test evaluations to assess workload, usability, and human-system integration.
  • Oversee data analysis using descriptive and inferential statistics to communicate findings to program stakeholders.
  • Manage operational testing and compliance activities to meet Human Factors certification requirements.
  • Develop human error analysis worksheets to substantiate certification compliance.
  • Research and integrate innovative human factors methods to improve future product development and engineering processes.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related curriculum is required.
  • Candidates must have 13 years of experience in a specific technical discipline or 15 years of broad engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Advanced aviation and aerospace Human Factors engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership on complex programs is required.
  • Extensive experience planning and overseeing Human Factors activities including human subjects, part-task simulations, and flight testing is required.
  • Proficiency in descriptive and inferential statistical analysis using tools like SPSS, Minitab, or JMP is required.
  • Experience applying advanced Human Factors principles to solve complex system integration and certification challenges is required.
  • Advanced degrees in engineering or related fields are preferred.
  • Pilot certification or operational flying experience (e.g., PPL, CPL, ATP) is a preferred qualification.
