JOB TITLE: FPGA Firmware Engineer / FPGA Design Engineer The FPGA Firmware Engineer / FPGA Design Engineer joins the Global CAD team to develop FPGA firmware and embedded software for leading-edge wireless products. This role involves designing and implementing critical firmware for custom emulation hardware while contributing to the continuous development of tools, technology, and flows to meet various infrastructure needs. The successful candidate will utilize System Verilog, RTL/HDL, and experience with Xilinx Ultrascale, Ultrascale+, MPSoC, and Intel Stratix platforms. Required skills include proficiency with Xilinx and Intel FPGA tools, as well as knowledge of C++, Python, Linux, and protocols such as AXI, PCIe, I2C, LVDS, and Ethernet. The work focuses on solving technical challenges within the CAD and EDA domain to support high-speed designs and timing closure.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement critical firmware for custom emulation hardware.
  • Develop FPGA firmware and embedded software for leading-edge wireless products.
  • Use industry-standard tools to develop solutions for various infrastructure needs.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of tools, technology, and design flows.
  • Implement communication protocols including AXI, PCIe, I2C, LVDS, and Ethernet.
  • Create customer-facing applications using System Verilog, RTL/HDL, and FPGA tools.
  • Develop software using C++, Python, and Linux/Embedded Linux environments.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in FPGA design, FPGA firmware, or related work.
  • Hands-on experience with System Verilog, RTL/HDL, Xilinx/Intel FPGAs, and associated tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Master's or PhD in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Applied Mathematics (preferred).
  • Experience with clock domain crossing, high speed designs, timing closure, VLSI concepts, and logic design (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with C++, Python, Linux/Embedded Linux, and ARM-based designs (preferred).
  • Experience implementing protocols such as AXI, PCIe, I2C, LVDS, and Ethernet (preferred).
