Forward Deployed Engineer, Industry Solutions

What you'll do

• Embed with partner engineering teams to integrate MongoDB into their existing products and codebases.
• Design and build MongoDB-backed features including data models, indexes, queries, and persistence layers.
• Develop migration solutions involving change data capture, dual writes, and application refactoring.
• Validate production-ready solutions for performance, scalability, security, and operational readiness across various environments.
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical documentation to enable partner engineers.
• Identify and document reusable implementation patterns and tooling to accelerate future engagements.
• Travel to partner sites to work directly with their engineering teams during key project phases.

What we're looking for

• Must have 5+ years of hands-on backend engineering experience building and operating production applications.
• Must possess strong application-side expertise with MongoDB, including data modeling, indexing, aggregation, and transaction semantics.
• Must have application-level fluency with at least one major relational database.
• Must have experience integrating new databases into large production codebases and migrating production workloads.
• Must have strong coding ability in at least two languages such as Java, C#/.NET, Node.js/TypeScript, Python, or Go.
• Must be able to work effectively in unfamiliar codebases and explain technical trade-offs clearly.
• Must be willing to spend significant time on-site with partners and travel within the region.
• Experience with ISV environments, microservices, Kafka, or MongoDB certifications (preferred).
