As a Field Service Engineer 5 within the Customer Support Business Group, you will ensure the operational excellence of complex semiconductor equipment for customers. You will be responsible for providing solutions regarding quality repair, maintenance service, and complete installation or relocation start-up services for electro-mechanical and electronic systems at customer sites. Your daily work involves analyzing and solving problems to the component level, running experiments, generating reports, and leading technical meetings with customer management. To succeed, you must possess expertise in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals while utilizing Microsoft Office Suite. You will serve as a subject matter expert to resolve complex engineering problems and mentor junior engineers. This role addresses the critical need for reliable performance and safety within high-tech semiconductor manufacturing environments through proactive technical leadership and troubleshooting.
Provide repair, maintenance, and installation services for complex electro-mechanical and electronic systems at customer sites.
Analyze and solve technical engineering problems across a broad range of products down to the component level.
Coordinate and run experiments or tests while generating detailed reports on findings.
Lead regular and ad hoc technical and executive meetings with customer management.
Manage customer trust KPIs and develop comprehensive customer support plans.
Provide technical instruction, leadership, and mentoring for junior engineers.
Own site and customer KPIs to drive improvements toward agreed goals.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related field with 12+ years experience; Master's degree with 8+ years; or equivalent work experience.
Previous experience in installation, maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment.
Proficiency in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals.
Ability to work in a clean room environment while wearing personal protective safety equipment.
Physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, walk, sit, twist, squat, kneel, climb, and stand for extended periods.
Ability to travel frequently, domestically and internationally, including flexibility for various shifts, overtime, and on-call requirements.
Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (preferred).
Strong communication skills in English, along with excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills (preferred).
