The DSP Wireless Systems Engineer joins a silicon design group focused on improving power amplifier efficiency and reducing power consumption for high data rate wireless applications. In this role, you will architect calibration and correction methods, implement system models of analog front-end designs, and develop algorithms to mitigate nonlinear distortion in transmitter systems. You will collaborate with RF, digital, and firmware engineers to determine hardware and software partitioning while performing silicon bring-up, testing, and characterization in a lab environment. The role requires proficiency in MATLAB, Python, and C/C++ for modeling and simulation, alongside experience with spectrum analyzers and signal generators. Key technical domains include digital pre-distortion, crest-factor reduction, and wireless protocols such as 5G-NR, 802.11 WiFi, and Bluetooth. You will solve complex problems related to RF impairments and signal processing for advanced communication systems.
Design and simulate state-of-the-art wireless transmitters for high data rate applications.
Research innovative power amplifier architectures, calibration algorithms, and processing structures to enhance performance.
Architect hardware, firmware, and software partitioning for area and time efficiency in calibrations.
Develop system models of analog front-end designs and impairments using C and MATLAB.
Collaborate with digital designers to implement power and area-efficient digital methods.
Work with firmware designers to create high-efficiency software implementations and hardware acceleration.
Perform bring up, testing, and characterization of real silicon in a laboratory environment.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement.
Experience designing signal processing for wireless communication systems.
Ability to estimate RF impairments via direct equipment measurement or self-testing loopback.
Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, and/or C/C++ for algorithm development, modeling, and simulation.
Hands-on experience with lab testing and characterization using spectrum analyzers, signal generators, signal analyzers, and power meters.
Basic understanding of RF and analog components, their impairments on OFDM signals, and corresponding calibration methods.
MSEE or PhD degree (preferred).
Experience in digital pre-distortion, crest-factor reduction, nonlinear crosstalk cancellation, and real-chip bring-up (preferred); knowledge of wireless protocols like 5G-NR, WiFi, or Bluetooth (preferred).
