As a Director, Software Engineer (Global Payment Network), you will join the Global Payment Network Technology organization to lead, manage, and grow multiple teams of product-focused software engineers. You will oversee the development of mission-critical systems and infrastructure that power complex money movement across domestic and international rails. Your daily responsibilities include mentoring engineers, improving software engineering practices, and breaking down monolithic applications into microservice architectures. You will utilize a diverse technology stack including node.js, Java, GO, AngularJS, React, Python, REST, JSON, XML, Ruby, Perl, NoSQL, relational databases, Spark, Artifactory, Maven, iOS, Android, and AWS/Cloud Infrastructure. This role focuses on building a high-volume, low-latency, and resilient distributed ecosystem while leveraging cutting-edge AI tooling to accelerate the development lifecycle.

What you'll do

Lead, manage, and grow multiple teams of product-focused software engineers.
Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of engineers on your team.
Design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions using full-stack development tools.
Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of all software solutions.
Break down existing monolithic applications into microservice architectures and build new microservices.
Lead efforts to deploy new and existing applications into AWS environments.
Work with product managers to define application capabilities and testing scenarios.
Continuously improve software engineering practices and team development velocity.

What we're looking for

At least 7 years of experience in software engineering.
At least 5 years of experience in people management.
Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Master’s Degree in Software Engineering (preferred).
10+ years of experience in software engineering (preferred).
5+ years of experience in Agile practices (preferred).
Experience leveraging interactive AI tooling to accelerate productivity (preferred).
Experience with technologies including Java, Node.js, Go, Python, AWS, and NoSQL databases.
