The Director, Software Engineering - Bank Tech joins the Bank Retail Money Management team to help customers improve financial health through intelligent, personalized experiences. You will lead, manage, and grow multiple product-focused software engineering teams, mentoring engineers while improving software engineering practices. Daily responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and supporting full-stack technical solutions, breaking down monolithic applications into microservice architectures, and deploying applications into AWS environments. You will work with product managers to define capabilities and ensure solution resilience and scalability. The role requires expertise in node.js, Java, GO, AngularJS, React, Python, REST, JSON, XML, Ruby, Perl, NoSQL, relational databases, Spark, Artifactory, Maven, iOS, Android, and AWS/Cloud Infrastructure. You will also leverage Machine learning models and Big Data techniques to solve complex financial problems.

What you'll do

Lead, manage, and grow multiple teams of product-focused software engineers.
Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of engineers on your team.
Work with product managers to define application capabilities and testing scenarios.
Design, develop, test, implement, and support full-stack technical solutions within Agile teams.
Ensure the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of all software solutions.
Break existing monolithic applications into microservice architectures and build new microservices.
Lead efforts to deploy new and existing applications into AWS environments.
Continuously improve software engineering practices and team velocity.

What we're looking for

At least 7 years’ experience in software development.
At least 5 years’ experience in people management.
Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a Master’s Degree in Software Engineering (preferred).
10+ years’ of experience in software development (preferred).
5+ years’ of experience in Agile practices (preferred).
Experience with technologies including node.js, Java, GO, AngularJS, React, Python, REST, JSON, XML, Ruby, Perl, NoSQL, Spark, and AWS.
Experience leading multiple teams to design, develop, test, and support full-stack technical solutions.
