TL;DR · Programs Director I

Director Programs 1 joins the Aeronautics Systems team to lead a restricted portfolio of RF capabilities within the Strike Program. This role carries profit and loss responsibility for the entire program lifecycle, including capture, proposal, award, execution, and closeout across development, production, and sustainment phases. The individual will manage quality, cost, schedule, and technical performance while leading cross-functional Integrated Program Teams to meet specific objectives. Key responsibilities include managing Earned Value Management, Total Cost Management, and risk mitigation while fostering customer relationships to secure funding. The role requires expertise in the Northrop Grumman Program Management Framework, supplier management, and contract negotiation. Candidates must possess experience with complex weapons systems, mission systems portfolios, and U.S. Government contracts. Required qualifications include a relevant degree, extensive leadership experience, and an active DoD Secret or Top-Secret clearance.

What you'll do

  • Manage profit and loss (P&L) for a portfolio of RF capabilities including financial forecasting and Earned Value Management.
  • Lead all phases of the program lifecycle from initial capture and proposal through execution and closeout.
  • Oversee quality, cost, schedule, and technical performance metrics to ensure program objectives are met.
  • Cultivate customer relationships to develop executable plans and secure necessary funding.
  • Manage supplier relationships and coordinate cross-functional teams to meet production and sustainment goals.
  • Negotiate contracts, changes, specifications, and operating budgets with external stakeholders and customers.
  • Identify and mitigate risks while managing program resources and workforce planning.
  • Develop and maintain integrated master plans and schedules to manage dependencies and prevent scope creep.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years experience (or BS in STEM and 9 years) or Master’s degree and 8 years (or MS in STEM and 7 years).
  • Experience in progressive engineering, operations, or business leadership including design, development, test, and production.
  • At least 3 years of experience in program or project leadership roles.
  • Experience with P&L management involving integrated program teams or CAM.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers or project management in other industries.
  • Active U.S. Government Secret level or higher clearance with the ability to obtain a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
  • Secret clearance to start.
