Director, Mechanical Engineer

What you'll do

• Lead and mentor a team of over 150 mechanical engineers and managers to foster technical excellence.
• Develop and execute the mechanical engineering strategy regarding people, processes, and tools.
• Coordinate all necessary resources including personnel, lab equipment, and tools for program execution.
• Oversee technical performance, schedules, and cost estimates for programs and proposals.
• Approve technical solutions and manage engineering content to meet project budgets and requirements.
• Hire, train, and retain top talent while promoting a culture of innovation and growth.
• Partner with Chief Engineers to ensure alignment on strategy and cross-team collaboration.
• Provide technical training and advance state-of-the-art technology through industry interaction and education.

What we're looking for

• A Bachelor's degree with at least 15 years of experience, a Graduate degree with 13 years, or 19 years of experience without a degree.
• An active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with a favorable polygraph is required.
• Strong technical background in mechanical design, analysis, and manufacturing processes (preferred).
• Advanced degree in Engineering and/or Management (preferred).
• Experience managing the engineering content of large DoD proposals and new business pursuits (preferred).
• Knowledge of digital engineering, automation, or AI-driven mechanical design tools (preferred).
• Experience with Earned Value management (EVMS), metrics, and data-driven decisions (preferred).
• Security clearance.
