Director, Mainframe DB2 Performance and Capacity
The Director, Mainframe DB2 Performance and Capacity joins the Mainframe Capacity and Performance team to lead technical analysis for large-scale IBM z Systems infrastructure. This role focuses on the DB2 for z/OS performance and capacity domain, where you will perform capacity modeling, system configuration tuning, and proactive monitoring for critical online and batch applications. You will manage complex multi-tier systems involving CICS, MQ, and cloud-to-mainframe integration while addressing issues like buffer pool management, WLM optimization, and replication impacts. To succeed, you must master DB2 architecture, z/OS subsystems, and tools including SMF, RMF, SYSVIEW, Broadcom Detector, Grafana, Power BI, Python, and SQL. You will translate technical findings into executive recommendations to balance performance, resiliency, and cost while leading engineers through high-severity incidents and large-scale modernization initiatives across the enterprise infrastructure.
