As a Director Engineering - Artifact Management Platform within the ALM Tools and Platforms team, you will provide hands-on leadership to own, operate, and scale enterprise artifact management platforms. The role requires expertise in JFrog Artifactory, Sonatype Nexus, Java, Python, or Go, along with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, OpenTofu, or CloudFormation. You will also navigate cloud environments using AWS, Kubernetes, and EC2 to manage high-throughput traffic and complex infrastructure migrations.

What you'll do

  • Design, operate, and scale enterprise artifact management platforms like JFrog Artifactory or Sonatype Nexus.
  • Perform hands-on configuration, automation, troubleshooting, and incident response for platform operations.
  • Implement software supply chain security controls including vulnerability scanning and policy enforcement.
  • Manage the ingestion, storage, and distribution of open source and third-party packages.
  • Architect systems for high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery at enterprise scale.
  • Define and manage SLIs and SLOs while building robust monitoring, alerting, and logging systems.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers responsible for artifact management platforms.
  • Manage migrations from on-premises to cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments.

What we're looking for

  • Experience designing, operating, and scaling artifact management platforms like JFrog Artifactory or Sonatype Nexus.
  • Hands-on experience with Java, Python, or Go programming languages.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure including AWS, Kubernetes, and EC2.
  • Proven track record of leading, coaching, and developing a team of engineers.
  • Deep understanding of open source ecosystems, package management, and software supply chain security.
  • Experience managing high-availability systems with strong focus on reliability, resilience, and observability.
  • Practical experience migrating platforms from on-premises to cloud or hybrid environments.
