The Director, Core Infrastructure Software Engineering - OCI Networking Data Plane leads the engineering organization within the Fleet Management and workload orchestration team. This leader defines the technical strategy and roadmap for a foundational platform that manages the lifecycle of OCI Networking fleets, including workload placement, deployment automation, capacity expansion, and infrastructure orchestration. The role involves building standardized platform capabilities to simplify service operations and accelerating infrastructure expansion across the global cloud. Key responsibilities include driving engineering effectiveness through CI/CD, automation, and AI-enabled engineering while ensuring system reliability, scalability, and observability. The position requires deep expertise in distributed systems, software architecture, and system design to solve complex problems related to network unreliability, data replication, and multi-tenant security in a large-scale cloud environment.
Define and execute the engineering strategy and roadmap for the OCI Networking fleet management and workload orchestration platform.
Build standardized platform capabilities to simplify the deployment, operation, and scaling of networking services across the global cloud.
Lead the engineering organization by managing staffing, organizational planning, and the delivery of multiple strategic initiatives.
Drive engineering effectiveness through modern practices including CI/CD, automation, AI-enabled engineering, and developer tooling.
Provide technical leadership on architecture, establishing standards for distributed systems, scalability, and fault tolerance.
Oversee operational readiness, incident management, and the development of telemetry systems to monitor system health.
Partner with cross-functional organizations to align roadmaps and deliver foundational cloud infrastructure capabilities.

What we're looking for
Must have 10+ years of experience.
Must have experience with distributed systems.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Must have experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or platform services (preferred).
Must have a strong technical background in distributed systems, cloud platforms, infrastructure orchestration, or networking infrastructure (preferred).
Must have experience defining technical strategy and delivering complex, mission-critical platforms through cross-functional collaboration (preferred).
Must have strong computer science fundamentals, including concurrency, software architecture, and system design (preferred).
Must have a BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred).
