Director, Software Engineering, Core Infrastructure

What you'll do

• Lead software engineering teams through a hierarchy of engineering managers and technical leads.
• Design, develop, and operate highly available, large-scale distributed services for OCI Networking.
• Drive the execution of technical and organizational priorities to ensure reliable and scalable service delivery.
• Establish strong engineering practices and operational excellence for production distributed systems.
• Manage complex projects by identifying risks, managing dependencies, and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
• Mentor and develop engineering leaders to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to design and deliver large-scale cloud infrastructure components.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of experience leading engineering teams building and operating highly available, production-grade distributed systems or cloud infrastructure.
• Experience managing engineering managers and/or senior technical leaders.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and software architecture.
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals and configuration management (preferred).
• Experience with modern software development and deployment practices, including CI/CD pipelines and release automation.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver complex engineering initiatives and collaborate across organizational boundaries.
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
