Director, Architecture will join the Fidelity Institutional Technology Architecture team to drive the end-to-end solution architecture for the Fidelity Institutional Wealth Advisory space. This role involves partnering with business sponsors and technology teams to lead digital modernization efforts by creating reliable, scalable solutions that deliver business value. Key responsibilities include preparing design artifacts, driving issue resolution, managing product roadmaps, and performing capability rationalization. The candidate must possess extensive knowledge of APIs, UIs, infrastructure, data architecture, and security. Required technical skills include Java, Java EE/Jakarta EE, Spring Framework/Spring Boot, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Angular/React. Additionally, the role requires experience with cloud technologies like AWS or Azure, AI/ML technologies, data platforms, and managing third-party vendor solutions to solve complex institutional wealth advisory problems.
Drive the end-to-end technical architecture and design for the Fidelity Institutional Wealth Advisory space.
Create highly reliable and scalable solutions to accelerate the delivery of development squads.
Prepare design artifacts and articulate technical designs to product owners and architecture leadership.
Analyze business direction to quantify risks and benefits when developing strategic technical solutions.
Lead technology evaluation, selection, recommendation, and configuration processes in collaboration with product owners.
Manage third-party vendor solutions to ensure secure, compliant, and high-performing integrations.
Build and deploy applications using cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
Assess and integrate emerging AI/ML technologies and data platforms into existing systems.
What we're looking for
10 plus years of industry experience in architecture, analytics, design, and development of enterprise solutions.
Ability to provide technical leadership, prepare design artifacts, and implement solutions for technology teams.
Demonstrated and extensive knowledge of APIs, UIs, infrastructure, data architecture, security, and new technologies.
Software development experience with expertise in Angular/React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Spring Framework/Spring Boot, and web application technologies.
Experience in cloud technologies and practices, building and deploying applications using either AWS or Azure or both.
Cloud certification (preferred).
Familiarity with AI/ML technologies and data platforms, with the ability to assess and integrate emerging capabilities.
