The Director, Architecture oversees the development, evaluation, and enhancement of architectural frameworks to support agile feature-development teams while ensuring scalable and extendable architecture through established governance. The position requires expertise in designing responsive web applications using JavaScript MVC frameworks like AngularJS and Angular, along with HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, Node.js, Azure, AWS Cloud Services, Kubernetes, and security protocols such as OAuth and SAML. Key responsibilities include engineering data consumption solutions within TIBCO and Denodo environments, optimizing SQL queries, and designing RESTful APIs using SOLID principles. The role addresses complex software systems within the financial services industry, utilizing scientific analysis to predict design outcomes while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and methodologies.
Develop and oversee new architectural frameworks to support agile feature development teams.
Define and implement architectural governance to ensure scalable and extendable systems.
Drive the adoption of design patterns and engineering best practices across product initiatives.
Manage technical debt as part of the overall product roadmap planning.
Maintain accurate product architecture documentation in accordance with enterprise standards.
Oversee software testing, validation, and documentation processes to monitor product quality.
Lead vendor evaluations and participate in technical design reviews for management approval.
Design and engineer data consumption solutions within enterprise data virtualization environments.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field and six years of experience as a Director, Architecture.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field and four years of experience as a Director, Architecture.
Demonstrated expertise designing responsive web applications using JavaScript MVC frameworks (AngularJS/Angular), HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, Node.js, Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, and Web security technologies (OAuth/SAML).
Expertise in object-oriented design (OOD) principles, SOLID principles, RESTful APIs, and software design patterns like MVC and Singleton.
Experience designing data consumption solutions in virtualization environments including TIBCO and Denodo Data Virtualization.
Proficiency in SQL for writing complex queries, designing stored procedures, and creating database triggers.
Ability to produce architecture documentation using Confluence and draw.io while participating in technical design reviews.
Experience implementing scalable systems within the financial services industry using Agile methodologies and IDEs like Visual Studio and SSMS.
