What you'll do

Use SQL and data tools to perform testing, validation, and root-cause analysis to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Document requirements for data sourcing, content, quality, and the integration of multiple upstream sources into curated datasets.
Classify critical data with actionable metadata including business definitions, technical lineage, and quality rules.
Develop processes to identify and mitigate risks regarding data protection, privacy, retention, and quality throughout the lifecycle.
Govern data integration into analytics platforms to create feature-ready products for advanced analytics and machine learning use cases.
Resolve data issues by performing triage and implementing preventative controls with business and technology partners.
Leverage AI/ML and LLM tools to automate governance activities such as metadata drafting and quality rule generation.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Science, Data, or a related field.
Formal training or certification on data engineering concepts.
5+ years of applied experience in data engineering.
5+ years of experience in data management or data governance.
Advanced SQL proficiency including complex joins, window functions, and CTEs for large datasets.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure) and big data technologies like Hadoop or Spark.
Experience developing roadmaps and solutions for data lakes, data warehouses, and business intelligence dashboards.
Proven track record in data governance, risk reduction, and leading data publishing initiatives.
