As a Card CoBrand Team - Data Owner Lead, you will shape the future of data management by ensuring information is accurate, accessible, and secure while aligning with stakeholder needs. You will define and classify critical business data, oversee data provisioned for applications, and support analytics, operations, and reporting functions. Your daily work involves developing plans for product data, documenting metadata, publishing curated data to the data lake, and mitigating risks regarding storage and quality. You will collaborate with technology and business partners to establish data strategies and investigate root causes of issues. The role requires expertise in SQL, Python, and database design, alongside experience in cloud modernization on AWS. You will manage delivery timelines while leveraging knowledge of big data platforms, ETL processes, and real-time data movement within cloud environments.
Define and classify critical business data elements with clear definitions and metadata.
Develop plans to deliver product data that supports strategic objectives, operations, and reporting.
Publish curated data to the data lake while ensuring scalable and governed data products.
Monitor and mitigate risks related to data protection, retention, destruction, storage, use, and quality.
Create operational procedures for data development and delivery to standardize quality and controls.
Investigate root causes of data issues with technology teams and recommend remediation steps.
Identify and execute opportunities to apply emerging technologies and automation in data management.
What we're looking for
Six years of industry experience in a data-related field.
Five years of experience in technology engineering and cloud modernization for data analytics on platforms such as AWS.
Expertise in SQL and strong understanding of database design and data manipulation.
Subject matter expertise in business or product data and processes.
Proficiency in Python for data management, automation, and analysis.
Demonstrated ability to manage delivery timelines and keep teams on track to meet goals.
Analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and solid business acumen.
Technical knowledge of data management, governance, big data platforms, and architecture (preferred); experience with real-time data movement, ML/AI, ETL, and visualization tools (preferred).
