As a Facilities Operations Technician V – Electrical in the Technology Operations team, you will lead the reliability and safety of mission-critical electrical systems in hyperscale data centers, applying advanced technical expertise to solve complex issues and support high-impact events. Your daily responsibilities include defining and maintaining electrical standards for switchgear, UPS, batteries, generators, and distribution systems, leading troubleshooting efforts, conducting power quality analysis, and collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with codes and standards such as NFPA and IEEE. Ideal candidates have extensive experience in mission-critical electrical systems, strong technical judgment, and the ability to mentor less-experienced technicians. What you'll do
Define, maintain, and improve electrical standards for mission-critical data center systems.
Lead complex troubleshooting and power quality analysis for high-impact events.
Provide technical guidance for upgrades and expansions of electrical infrastructure.
Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders on compliance and standards.
Review and ensure consistent execution of technical documentation across sites.
Mentor less experienced technicians in critical electrical infrastructure maintenance.
Support incident investigations and root cause analysis for recurring issues.
What we're looking for
5+ years of experience with mission-critical electrical systems in data centers or similar high-availability facilities
Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for complex technical issues
Strong understanding of power distribution, protection concepts, system reliability, and operational risk
Ability to lead technical work and support critical operational decisions
Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred
NFPA 70E training and electrical safety background required
OEM certifications/training on critical power systems strongly preferred
