The Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) – ASIC Products serves as the primary quality interface between customers and internal engineering teams for ASIC products. This role involves managing customer quality issues, leading Return Material Authorization investigations, and driving root-cause analysis and corrective actions throughout the product lifecycle. The engineer will coordinate failure analysis with labs, track RMA trends, and provide feedback to design, verification, validation, product, test, package, and manufacturing teams to improve product robustness. Key responsibilities include managing customer escalations, performing 8D and CAPA methodologies, and monitoring quality KPIs like RMA rates and turnaround times. The role requires expertise in semiconductor failure analysis techniques and manufacturing processes. Candidates must possess strong communication skills to manage relationships with customers while collaborating with foundries and OSATs to resolve technical issues within the ASIC product domain.
Act as the primary quality point of contact for customers regarding ASIC product issues.
Manage the end-to-end Return Material Authorization (RMA) process for returned devices.
Lead cross-functional root-cause investigations using 8D and CAPA methodologies to resolve failures.
Coordinate failure analysis activities with internal labs, external partners, and manufacturing teams.
Provide customer quality feedback to engineering teams to improve product robustness and reduce defect escapes.
Monitor and report key performance indicators including RMA rates and corrective action closure performance.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across design, test, packaging, and manufacturing organizations.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline (preferred).
2+ years of experience in semiconductor quality, product engineering, customer quality, reliability, failure analysis, or manufacturing engineering (preferred).
Strong understanding of ASIC product development and manufacturing processes (preferred).
Experience managing customer escalations and quality-related issues (preferred).
Knowledge of semiconductor failure analysis techniques and methodologies (preferred).
Experience leading root-cause analysis and corrective action activities (preferred).
Strong written and verbal communication skills with customer-facing experience (preferred).
