CPU Implementation Engineer

What you'll do

• Define memory subsystems and perform feasibility studies with micro-architects.
• Analyze and balance trade-offs for area, frequency, performance, and power.
• Design and balance the pipeline stages of the CPU.
• Drive the RTL-to-GDS flow through synthesis and place-and-route processes.
• Implement physical design targeting specific power, performance, and area goals.
• Validate physical design aspects including timing, area, reliability, testability, and power.

What we're looking for

• Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree.
• Academic coursework or industry experience in VLSI and/or digital circuit design.
• Experience with scripting in Perl or TCL.
• Familiarity with high performance microprocessor architecture (preferred).
• Knowledge of logic design principles along with timing and power implications (preferred).
• Understanding of low power microarchitecture and implementation techniques (preferred).
• Design exposure in deep sub-micron technologies and device physics (preferred).
• Experience using synthesis & place-route tools (preferred).
