CPU Implementation Engineer

The CPU Implementation Engineer joins the Silicon Engineering Group to focus on CPU block-level implementation. In this role, you will collaborate with micro-architects to define memory subsystems and perform critical trade-offs regarding area, frequency, performance, and power while balancing pipeline stages. You will drive the RTL-to-GDS flow through synthesis and place-and-route processes to meet ambitious physical design targets for timing, reliability, testability, and power. The work involves solving complex hardware challenges in high-performance microprocessor architecture and low-power microarchitecture implementation within deep sub-micron technologies. Required skills include academic or professional experience in VLSI and digital circuit design, along with proficiency in Perl or TCL scripting. You will utilize synthesis and place-route tools to ensure the successful delivery of integrated circuits while navigating the complexities of device physics and logic design principles.
