What you'll do

  • Perform daily field oversight of construction activities to ensure compliance with designs, safety regulations, and project objectives.
  • Monitor contractor actions on-site and conduct inspections to identify and resolve unsafe conditions.
  • Ensure all work complies with OSHA, DOE directives, and other relevant regulatory codes like NFPA and IBC.
  • Coordinate utility shutdowns and manage Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures in collaboration with contractors and internal teams.
  • Participate in design reviews, hazard analyses, and pre-task planning meetings to address safety and constructability concerns.
  • Obtain necessary work permits and ensure compliance with site access and control procedures.
  • Verify contractor qualifications and communicate jobsite expectations regarding hazards and mitigation measures.
  • Use tools like Bluebeam and Procore to manage quality assurance documentation and track field issues.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management and 10+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
  • Significant technical knowledge of construction practices, materials, methods, and job site safety management.
  • Proven experience with construction safety standards including OSHA, NFPA, and applicable DOE directives.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings while following QA/QC protocols.
  • Proficiency with field reporting tools, digital documentation systems (Procore, Bluebeam), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification is preferred.
  • Completion of OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a government access authorization following a background check.
