What you'll do

  • Maintain all facets of primary and secondary compression systems for 24/7/365 operations.
  • Implement, monitor, and troubleshoot linear and ad-hoc compression and encoding systems to ensure reliable transmissions.
  • Provide engineering support for global monitoring platforms and compliance recording systems.
  • Support the Technical Live Events team with global event contribution and distribution.
  • Perform maintenance on Video IP distribution platforms to support affiliate service delivery.
  • Conduct diagnostic testing, repair, and replacement activities for all compression subsystems.
  • Create and implement standard operating procedures, maintenance plans, and test protocols.
  • Manage technical documentation for equipment maintenance, repairs, and new system testing.

What we're looking for

  • Must possess the legal right to work in the United States.
  • 4-6 years of experience with domestic and international television compression and distribution systems is preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of baseband video, audio, metadata, and IP theory for video transport.
  • Experience with MPEG4 encoding, encryption/authorization technology, and specific DigiCipher and PowerVu compression systems.
  • Foundational knowledge of cloud-based architecture and applications for video delivery.
  • Basic knowledge of architectural, mechanical, and electrical systems as they relate to distribution equipment.
  • Ability to read and produce system drawings and perform troubleshooting in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
