What you'll do

  • Design and plan new and upgraded production systems including facility changes, equipment purchases, budget tracking, and scheduling.
  • Consult with operations teams to gather requirements and manage the deployment of new media infrastructure.
  • Write and maintain engineering SOPs for broadcast and production systems like plant routing and distribution hardware.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including CAD drawings, user manuals, and project management templates.
  • Evaluate new technologies and provide recommendations regarding equipment and software selection for the operations department.
  • Set up demonstrations and training sessions for new or potential equipment and software.
  • Track incoming equipment against purchase orders to ensure correct receipt and quantity.
  • Use monitoring tools and ticketing systems to track data, manage assets, and report project status to management.

What we're looking for

  • A college degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Television Production is preferred but not required.
  • Equivalent professional experience to a degree is acceptable.
  • 5+ years of experience in Broadcast Project Engineering, system design, project management, or a similar industry.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint, and non-linear editing applications like Avid, Adobe, or DaVinci Resolve.
  • Thorough understanding of SD, HD, and UHD digital video standards and Digital Audio standards.
  • Knowledge of transport streams (SRT, NDI, J2K) and Software Defined Video Networking/ST-2110 routing.
  • Understanding of cloud-based technologies and platforms such as AWS and Azure.
  • Ability to read and decipher system schematic drawings and lift equipment up to 50 lbs.
