TL;DR · Board Product Development Engineer

The Board Product Development Engineer joins the Board Product Development Engineering team to transition complex board products from design phases into mass production. This role involves developing engineering boards and tester systems to support gaming, workstation, and compute GPU cards during NPI and production. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide DFx recommendations regarding electrical, mechanical, and thermal challenges while performing root cause analysis on failing boards using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and software tools. Responsibilities include analyzing yield data through programming and scripting, defining manufacturing test plans, and managing contract manufacturing factories. Required expertise includes server architectures, PCB design, SMT, assembly, and high-speed interfaces like PCI-E, DP, HDMI, or USB. Candidates should possess skills in power integrity, thermal characterization, and complex test setups to solve multi-disciplinary problems within the hardware engineering domain.

What you'll do

  • Manage the transition of complex board products from the design phase into mass production.
  • Provide DFx recommendations to address electrical, mechanical, and thermal challenges during the design phase.
  • Root cause failing boards using lab equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
  • Analyze yield and parametric data using available tools, programming, and scripting.
  • Perform product design and validation to support ongoing engineering sustaining work.
  • Define and improve manufacturing test plans to optimize coverage, cost, and yield.
  • Direct local and overseas contract manufacturing factories during the transition to mass production.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or computer science, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in design, manufacturing, validation, product development, or testing of PCBs, silicon, or other systems.
  • Experience in at least two areas: server architectures, test equipment, PCB design, SMT, assembly, post-Si validation, product engineering, or high-speed interfaces.
  • Ability to debug complex multi-disciplinary problems involving electrical, mechanical, and thermal challenges.
  • Proficiency in analyzing yield and parametric data using software tools and scripting.
  • Experience providing DFx recommendations and defining manufacturing test plans to optimize coverage and cost.
  • Ability to direct local and overseas contract manufacturing factories during product transitions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
