As an AWS Lead Software Engineer-Full Stack/Java/SpringBoot within the Commercial and Investment Banking Payments Technology team, you will serve as a core technical contributor in an agile environment. You will design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions while ensuring high-quality production code for secure, stable, and scalable healthcare technology products. Your daily responsibilities include leading evaluation sessions with vendors, leading communities of practice, and driving the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve delivery speed and code quality. You will work extensively with Java, Spring Boot, JPA, SQL, REST, Kafka, Oracle, and Git while utilizing Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines. Additional technical expertise includes Groovy, Gradle, Python, Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS cloud technologies to solve complex problems regarding application resiliency and security within a large corporate environment.

What you'll do

Develop, debug, and maintain high-quality production code using Java, Spring Boot, and SQL.
Design and implement secure, scalable technical solutions for complex business problems.
Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve system operational stability.
Lead evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technology applicability.
Lead communities of practice to promote the adoption of leading-edge technologies across engineering teams.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices for code review, refactoring, and testing.
Implement automated CI/CD pipelines and utilize tools within the software development life cycle toolchain.
Ensure all software solutions adhere to strict security standards and application resiliency requirements.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on experience coding in Java, Spring Boot, JPA, SQL, and REST.
Experience building RESTful backend applications with Spring Boot and Oracle databases.
Experience with event-driven architecture using Kafka.
Proficiency with version control systems like Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and understanding responsible AI practices.
Practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and maintaining code in large corporate environments.
Familiarity with Groovy, Gradle, Python, containerization (Kubernetes/Docker), and AWS cloud technologies (preferred); exposure to AI/ML (preferred).
