What you'll do

  • Provide technical and business support to users by resolving issues and queries from stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison between internal technology groups, vendors, and end-users like traders.
  • Participate in application releases including development, testing, deployment, and post-release checkouts.
  • Perform daily performance monitoring of the Hadoop cluster to ensure stability and analyze metrics.
  • Develop and maintain technical support documentation for applications and infrastructure updates.
  • Identify risks, vulnerabilities, and security issues through systematic analysis of application data.
  • Collaborate with development teams to prioritize bug fixes and improve support tooling requirements.
  • Lead projects focused on improving system stability, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Application Support.
  • 2-5 years of experience with application support procedures, concepts, and related technical areas.
  • 3-5 years of strong application production support experience in the financial industry.
  • Experience using call/ticketing software and problem management tools.
  • Working knowledge of Cloudera distribution components including HDFS, Hive, Impala, Spark, YARN, Sentry, Oozie, and Kafka.
  • 2-3 years of Linux experience and good SQL experience in any RDBMS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft operating systems and Office suite (Word, Excel).
  • Experience with Autosys/CONTROL-M schedulers or Python/Perl scripting (preferred); knowledge of ITRS Active Console (preferred).
