The Applications Support Sr Analyst - Asst Vice President joins the Wealth Data & Analytics Production Management team to support a unified, regulatory-compliant platform providing essential data for global wealth management services. The candidate will manage complex application enhancements, coordinate with developers on bug fixes, and act as a liaison between users and technology groups. Key technical requirements include experience with Hadoop/Big Data platforms including HDFS, Hive, Impala, Spark, YARN, Sentry, Oozie, and Kafka. Proficiency in Linux, SQL, and programming languages like Python or Perl is required. Provide technical and business support to resolve application issues and improve system stability and efficiency.
Monitor systems daily, perform risk reconciliations, and manage regional handovers for production environments.
Develop and maintain technical documentation while identifying ways to maximize the potential of existing applications.
Assess the risk and impact of production issues and escalate them to management in a timely manner.
Define scope and objectives for complex application enhancements and coordinate with development teams on bug fixes.
Manage data storage, archiving procedures, and contingency planning to ensure continuous system availability.
Act as a subject matter expert and coach for junior analysts while serving as a liaison between users and vendors.
Monitor and tune Hadoop/Big Data cluster performance including HDFS, Hive, Spark, and Kafka components.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
5-8 years of experience in an Application Support role.
5-8 years of experience with Linux.
Experience installing, configuring, or supporting business applications.
Good SQL experience in any RDBMS.
Knowledge of Hadoop/Big Data platforms and Cloudera components like HDFS, Hive, Impala, Spark, YARN, Sentry, Oozie, and Kafka.
Proficiency in programming languages with a willingness to learn; Python or PERL (preferred).
Experience with monitoring tools such as ITRS Active Console or other monitoring tools (preferred); experience with Autosys/CONTROL-M schedulers (preferred).
