Apprentice Controls Technician

What you'll do

• Maintain, calibrate, configure, and repair instrumentation, process controls, and data acquisition systems.
• Troubleshoot and document malfunctions in electrical and electronic components.
• Build, test, and modify developmental and production electrical units and assemblies.
• Perform wire terminations for sensors including pressure transducers, thermocouples, valves, and flow meters.
• Adjust and calibrate circuitry while recording the effects on unit performance.
• Interpret technical documents such as schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and engineering sketches.
• Execute hardware assembly tasks including soldering, crimping, cable routing, and building junction boxes.
• Set up equipment to conform to specific data acquisition plans and test parameters.

What we're looking for

• Associate's degree in instrumentation, control technology, electrical systems, or a related field.
• Experience working with instrumentation such as pressure transducers, thermocouples, valves, flow meters, multimeters, or oscilloscopes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks in cramped positions, at heights, or in extreme outdoor environments.
• Valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of IPC 620 spec for harness assembly (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of Wheatstone Bridge Theory, Ohm's Law, and DC electronics (preferred).
• Proficiency in technical skills including soldering, crimping, wire stripping, and troubleshooting system problems (preferred).
• U.S. citizen.
