Controls Technician

What you'll do

• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation, process controls, and data acquisition systems.
• Perform wire terminations for sensors including pressure transducers, thermocouples, valves, and flow meters.
• Install connectors, pins, terminals, and lugs while performing continuity checks to correct wiring errors.
• Build, test, and modify electrical and electronic units, assemblies, and components.
• Interpret technical documents such as schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and engineering sketches.
• Analyze calibration results and assist in the interpretation of processed test data.
• Configure data acquisition hardware and manage various bus architectures and communication technologies.
• Repair or replace faulty components within complex test setups and equipment.

What we're looking for

• Associate degree in instrumentation, control technology, electrical systems, or another electrical field (3+ years of professional experience in these fields may substitute for a degree).
• 2+ years of experience working with instrumentation such as pressure transducers, thermocouples, valves, flow meters, multimeters, or oscilloscopes.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 75 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces at heights up to 500 feet.
• Experience with specific instrumentation like RTDs, strain gauges, load cells, and various flow meters (preferred).
• Knowledge of Wheatstone bridge theory, Ohm's law, DC electronics, and signal conditioning for thermocouples (preferred).
• Proficiency in soldering, crimping, wire stripping, and building junction boxes (preferred).
• Experience with VFDs, motor starters, multiple bus architectures, and data acquisition hardware like PXI or SCXI (preferred).
• U.S. citizen.
