Apprentice Controls Technician

What you'll do

• Maintain, calibrate, configure, and repair instrumentation, process controls, and data acquisition systems.
• Investigate, diagnose, and document malfunctions in electrical and control systems.
• Build, test, and modify developmental and production electrical components and assemblies.
• Perform wire terminations for sensors including pressure transducers, thermocouples, valves, and flow meters.
• Adjust and calibrate circuitry while recording the effects on overall unit performance.
• Interpret technical documents such as schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and engineering sketches.
• Troubleshoot system-level problems to determine necessary corrective actions.

What we're looking for

• Associate's degree in instrumentation, control technology, electrical systems, or a related field.
• Experience working with instrumentation such as pressure transducers, thermocouples, valves, flow meters, multimeters, or oscilloscopes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents including schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and engineering sketches.
• Proficiency in system-level troubleshooting and logical problem-solving for instrumentation systems.
• Knowledge of DC electronics, Ohm's Law, Wheatstone Bridge Theory, and signal conditioning concepts.
• Experience with cable harnessing, soldering, crimping tools, and IPC 620 standards for harness assembly.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, working in cramped spaces, and climbing at heights.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible for export control authorizations under ITAR regulations.
