The Automation & Controls Specialist (Starship) joins the team to support the development and construction of tooling for Starship and Super Heavy Booster systems. What you'll do

Own and execute industrial automation projects from inception through completion.
Develop and upgrade data acquisition and control systems for production hardware.
Program PLCs and HMIs according to specific engineering designs.
Commission, install, and integrate physical hardware including wire harnesses, PCBs, and pneumatic systems.
Draft and redline electrical and fluid schematics during the design and build phases.
Analyze system data to evaluate the performance of electrical components.
Implement long-term reliability improvements for production systems and team processes.
Provide technical guidance and leadership to technicians and contractors.

What we're looking for

High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
At least 1 year of experience in a controls technician or specialist role.
U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or other eligible status for ITAR compliance.
Experience programming PLCs and HMIs according to engineering designs.
Ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot data acquisition and control hardware.
Knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 79, and UL508A codes.
Proficiency in industrial bus protocols such as Modbus, Profinet, and EtherNet/IP.
Ability to perform physical tasks including working at heights, in confined spaces, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
