TL;DR · Analog Mixed Signal/Power Management Design Engineer

As a Principal Analog/Mixed-Signal Design Engineer at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., you will lead the definition and design of complex CMOS mixed-signal blocks such as data converters, PLLs, and voltage regulators, ensuring they meet system-level requirements through rigorous simulation and verification processes. You will collaborate closely with layout teams to oversee block-level layouts and contribute to design reviews while defining comprehensive verification plans for IP or chip portions. Utilizing advanced tools like Cadence ADE and MATLAB, you will run complex simulations and analyze results to optimize power, performance, and functionality. This role requires extensive experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design, ideally with a focus on specific areas such as VCOs, PLLs, or data converters, along with proficiency in design tools like SPICE, Verilog/VHDL, and MATLAB. You will also provide technical guidance to junior team members and consult with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure alignment with project goals.

What you'll do

  • Defines architecture and circuit specifications for mixed-signal IC blocks.
  • Oversees layout and silicon evaluation for multiple analog/digital blocks.
  • Develops verification plans and runs complex simulations to improve designs.
  • Designs and implements complex tests to identify and analyze design issues.
  • Provides technical guidance and expertise on new initiatives in analog design.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of analog/mixed-signal IC design experience.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of mixed-signal IC design experience.
  • PhD in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of ASIC design experience.
  • 3+ years using design tools like Cadence ADE, MATLAB, and Verilog/VHDL.
  • Experience in CMOS circuit design for VCOs, PLLs, DLLs, data converters, audio amplifiers.
  • Oversees layout and silicon evaluation for multiple blocks.
