As an Advisory Solutions Architect, you will join the Pre-Sales organization to ensure technical alignment between the company’s data platform and customer needs. You will serve as a trusted advisor, guiding customers from startups to large enterprises in designing and building reliable, scalable systems. Your daily responsibilities include performing technical discovery, conducting demonstrations, providing proof of value, and collaborating with sales teams to win deals. You will design performant applications and infrastructure while advising on architecture patterns and optimization strategies. The role requires proficiency in modern scripting languages like Python, Node.js, and SQL, as well as programming languages such as C/C++, Java, or C#. You will work with technologies including MongoDB Atlas, Apache Kafka, Kubernetes, and hyperscaler cloud platforms to solve complex problems involving data engineering, AI/ML projects, and the modernization of legacy systems.

What you'll do

Design and architect scalable, performant applications and infrastructure for large software projects using MongoDB.
Guide customers on architecture patterns and optimization strategies while communicating the business value of the platform.
Execute technical discovery, product demonstrations, proof of value, and sizing documentation to win deals.
Partner with sales teams to prioritize opportunities and develop account growth strategies.
Generate demand through self-driven technical initiatives, trade shows, and account-based marketing events.
Provide expert advice on migrating legacy systems into modern, cloud-native technology stacks.
Mentor team members and establish thought leadership through public speaking and published content.

What we're looking for

Ideally, have 12+ years of experience in customer-facing roles and at least 7 years of pre-sales experience in complex enterprise software sales.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience with modern scripting or popular programming languages like Python, Node.js, SQL, C/C++, Java, or C#.
Experience designing scalable and highly available distributed systems in cloud and on-premise environments.
Ability to communicate complex technical and business concepts clearly to both technology and business leadership.
Demonstrated understanding of sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC or Command of the Message.
A Master’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Experience with database programming, data models, data engineering, AI/ML projects, SRE practices, or transforming legacy systems (preferred).
MongoDB Certification or a Cloud Provider Certification (preferred).
