Advanced degree preferred but not required. Equivalent industry experience is
highly valued.
Familiarity with cloud ML platforms (AWS, Azure) and MLOps practices.
Experience with personalization systems and real-time inference pipelines.

We are seeking an AI Scientist Manager to lead our post-training and model alignment efforts. This role sits at the critical intersection of advanced AI research, people leadership, and model readiness. You will both manage and grow a team of AI scientists and personally contribute as a hands-on researcher, owning the transformation of foundation models into reliable, aligned, and production-ready systems. Principal Product Manager

Amer - United States - California - San Francisco - One Market, USA Posted today

$128000 - $228690

Open Role Brief Quick scan for responsibilities, requirements, and tone before you dive deeper.

Job Requisition ID #

26WD95174

Position Overview

Autodesk's GTM Tech organization is hiring a Principal Product Manager to own the strategy, vision, and execution of the Opportunity Lifecycle & Sales End-to-End product area — the backbone of how Autodesk's global sales force moves deals from creation through qualification, quoting, order handoff, fulfillment, and closed-loop updates.

The opportunity lifecycle capabilities exist and are actively used by sellers worldwide. What makes this role critical right now is the next evolution: defining the 0 → 1 vision for AI-assisted seller guidance, driving operational scale through automation, and raising the bar on workflow integrity, data trust, and governance across complex multi-system transaction paths. You will operate as the subject-matter expert (SME) for Opportunity Management and the connective tissue across multiple product groups — guiding lifecycle PMs (who each own scope by capability area) toward end-to-end coherence without direct authority. You will shape how these PMs work through a product operating model that emphasizes outcome-driven PRDs, measurable success criteria, and continuous product health monitoring. Your stakeholder surface area extends up to VP level across Sales Strategy, Sales Leadership, Sales Ops, Enablement, Deal Desk, Engineering, UX, and Data.

The right person for this role is a systems thinker who thrives in ambiguity, understands full deal lifecycle while zooming into governance edge cases, and communicates with the clarity and credibility needed to influence decisions they don't directly make.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Roadmap:

  • Own the long-term product vision and roadmap for Opportunity Lifecycle and Sales End-to-End workflow integrity in Salesforce Sales Cloud, aligned to Autodesk's GTM strategy and process standards.
  • Define and prioritize scalable GTM process capabilities across the full opportunity arc: creation, progression, quoting/order handoff, fulfillment, and closed-loop updates.
  • Identify and frame the highest-leverage problems through discovery with sales roles, ops, enablement, and field leadership — converting insights into clear PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and success metrics with end-to-end traceability.

End-to-End Integrity & Governance:

  • Own Sales End-to-End handoff integrity across Opportunity, Quote, Order, Fulfillment, and closed-loop updates — ensuring minimal breakpoints, clear system-of-record boundaries, and reliable data flow even when adjacent teams own their systems (CPQ, Order Management, Fulfillment).
  • Drive governance and resolution patterns for complex deal scenarios that commonly break processes, including:
  • Split / merge / clone opportunities
  • Ownership, team, and role changes mid-deal
  • Post-quote edits and safe-change windows
  • New purchase, amendment, expansion, and renewal-related opportunity behaviors
  • Define and enforce closed-loop integrity so that deal outcomes reliably propagate back to the opportunity record — manually and through automation

AI-Assisted Guidance & Automation (0 → 1):

  • Define the vision and phased roadmap for AI-assisted seller experiences: "next best action" recommendations, in-context help, and guided updates — prioritizing reliability, explainability, and trust.
  • Design and scale automation (validations, guided flows, prompts, defaults) that reduces manual work, prevents invalid states, and improves cycle time.
  • Establish measurement frameworks for AI-assisted capabilities: adoption, task completion, seller satisfaction, error rates, and business impact.

Cross-PM Influence:

  • Model and reinforce the product operating model: outcome-driven PRDs (WHY/WHAT, not HOW), measurable success criteria with baselines and targets, telemetry-first launches, and non-functional requirements as first-class specifications.
  • Drive continuous product health monitoring — ensuring every capability area has adoption, reliability, data quality, and business outcome metrics that are tracked and reviewed on cadence.

Stakeholder Influence & Communication:

  • Influence decisions as the Opportunity Lifecycle SME — recommend best practices, propose tradeoffs, and guide stakeholder decisions through clear narratives and data-backed reasoning, up to VP level
  • Build alignment through structured interlocks, demos, and decision logs across Sales Strategy, Sales Leaders/Managers/Reps, Sales Ops, Enablement, Deal Desk,, Engineering, UX, and Data
  • Drive release readiness, enablement, and adoption plans; measure impact and iterate

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience in enterprise systems, internal tools, or GTM platforms, with demonstrated ownership of CRM process capabilities at scale
  • SME-level experience in Opportunity lifecycle management in a complex B2B sales environment — including process design, governance, workflow integrity, and adoption across global sales roles
  • Working knowledge of:
  • Salesforce Sales Cloud Core (data and functional models)
  • Salesforce Sales Performance Management (SPM)
  • Sales engagement platforms (e.g., HVS, Groove)
  • Pipeline management and sales forecasting fundamentals
  • Strong product craft: ability to write clear, outcome-driven PRDs; define rigorous acceptance criteria; manage cross-team dependencies; and deliver end-to-end outcomes with measurable success criteria
  • Exceptional communication skills — verbal, visual, and written — including strong demo skills and the ability to persuade diverse stakeholders (Sales leadership, Ops, Enablement, Engineering) up to VP level
  • Fluency with AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesis, documentation, and workflow design — while maintaining high standards of accuracy and critical judgment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience driving Opportunity lifecycle capabilities across global sales roles and geographies, including support for change management and enablement at scale
  • Familiarity with quote-to-order ecosystem handoffs (CPQ and downstream systems) and common failure modes that impact opportunity integrity and closed-loop accuracy
  • Strong analytics capability (BI tools and/or SQL) to define and monitor adoption, data quality, cycle time, and workflow error rates — and to hold teams accountable to measurable outcomes
  • Experience defining AI-assisted selling experiences (nudges, prompts, in-context help, agent-based workflows) from 0 → 1, with emphasis on reliability, explainability, and measurable business impact
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-program roadmaps and guide multiple PMs toward end-to-end coherence — operating as a technical/product leader through influence rather than direct authority
  • Experience establishing or operating within a product operating model that emphasizes outcome-driven specifications, telemetry-first launches, non-functional requirements, and continuous product health monitoring

The Ideal Candidate

  • The ideal candidate for this role is not just a strong PM, they are the kind of PM who makes the entire product group better
  • Systems thinker. You naturally hold the full deal lifecycle in your head — from lead qualification to closed-loop fulfillment updates — and can zoom into any edge case without losing the thread. You see interdependencies before they become incidents
  • Thrives in ambiguity. You don't wait for a brief. You define the problem, frame the options, propose a path, and move — adjusting as you learn. Greenfield mandates (like defining an AI guidance vision from scratch) energize you
  • Influence without authority. You've guided PMs, shaped engineering decisions, and aligned VP-level stakeholders — not because you managed them, but because your reasoning was clear, your data was credible, and your recommendations were sound
  • Product craft is your identity. You write PRDs that engineers want to read. Your acceptance criteria are unambiguous. You define success metrics before you define features. You've internalized the discipline of WHY/WHAT over HOW
  • Data and ops orientation. You think in adoption curves, error rates, cycle times, and reconciliation tolerances. You've built (or demanded) dashboards that make product health visible — and you review them regularly, not just at launch
  • Deep enterprise GTM / SalesTech fluency. You've lived inside the complexity of B2B sales processes — deal exceptions, multi-system handoffs, global role variations, governance models. You don't need a glossary for CPQ, SPM, or ACV
  • AI-literate and trust-aware. You're excited about AI-assisted experiences but grounded about what earns seller trust: reliability first, then speed, then delight. You understand that an AI recommendation sellers can't explain to their manager is worse than no recommendation
  • Executive communicator. You can run a demo for a VP, write a one-pager that lands a decision, and translate field pain into strategic priorities — all in the same week
  • Self-driven and accountable. You set your own quality bar. You don't need to be told to monitor what you shipped, to document your decisions, or to close the loop with stakeholders. Ownership is not a value you perform — it's how you operate

Senior Data Architect – Enterprise Data Strategy

Remote (Amer - United States - California - Offsite/Home, USA) Posted today

$143000 - $256520

Open Role Brief Quick scan for responsibilities, requirements, and tone before you dive deeper.

Job Requisition ID #

26WD96409

Position Overview

Autodesk is seeking a Senior Data Architect to join our Data Architecture team, which is responsible for defining and evolving the long-term data architecture vision.

This role operates at the strategic layer of architecture — shaping how data is structured, governed, activated, and leveraged across operational systems (Sales, Marketing, Support, Finance), customer-facing platforms (digital experience, subscriptions, personalization), and analytics and AI/ML ecosystems.

While this is a strategy-defining role, it is not purely conceptual. The ideal candidate is deeply technical and hands-on — capable of whiteboarding system flows, refining logical data models, reviewing integration designs, and mentoring engineers and architects to ensure the strategy is grounded in implementation reality. A critical dimension of this role is the ability to proactively identify opportunities to unlock enterprise data for AI-driven workflows — enabling automation, intelligent decisioning, personalization, and new product capabilities through well-architected, trusted data foundations. You will partner with senior enterprise and solution architects to ensure Autodesk’s data ecosystem evolves cohesively and scales to support new business models, customer experiences, and AI-powered innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and evolve the enterprise data architecture vision aligned to Autodesk’s business strategy and digital transformation goals
  • Define enterprise data domains and ownership models across operational, customer, and analytical ecosystems
  • Develop guiding principles and guardrails for how data is created, shared, mastered, governed, and activated

  • Design architectural patterns that make high-quality, governed data accessible for AI workflows across the organization
  • Ensure machine learning pipelines and AI systems are grounded in authoritative enterprise data domains
  • Partner with AI/ML and product teams to define scalable, reusable data foundations for experimentation and production AI systems
  • Remove systemic barriers that limit data discoverability, accessibility, and reuse
  • Create and maintain high-level conceptual and logical data models spanning CRM, ERP, Finance, subscription systems, marketing platforms, support systems, and analytics environments
  • Design and validate end-to-end data flows that traverse multiple enterprise systems
  • Identify architectural fragmentation and define modernization strategies
  • Ensure operational and analytical architectures are cohesive and mutually reinforcing
  • Engage directly in whiteboarding sessions, integration design reviews, and model refinement with engineering teams
  • Guide translation of conceptual and logical models into implementable physical designs
  • Review APIs, event schemas, data contracts, and pipeline architectures to ensure alignment with enterprise standards
  • Provide practical implementation guidance for AI/ML, personalization, and real-time data use cases
  • Lead by example with architectural artifacts that engineering teams can operationalize
  • Partner with business, product, and engineering leaders to align data capabilities with business priorities
  • Collaborate with enterprise and domain architects to align roadmaps and architectural decisions
  • Influence funding and roadmap decisions before delivery begins
  • Facilitate architectural governance processes and design reviews
  • Establish scalable approaches for data management and authoritative data sources
  • Define patterns for data contracts, lineage, observability, and quality validation

$139000 - $249260

Open Role Brief Quick scan for responsibilities, requirements, and tone before you dive deeper.

Job Requisition ID #

26WD97363

Position Overview

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer – Backend to join Autodesk’s Enterprise Data Management (EDM) organization within the COO-GET Engineering group. This is a senior individual contributor role operating at the Principal (P4) level, expected to drive technology direction for large, complex, and business-critical backend and distributed systems.

This role is anchored in backend software engineering excellence: designing, building, and evolving scalable services, APIs, and event-driven systems that operate at enterprise scale. As a Principal Engineer, you will work with high autonomy and ambiguity, shape long-term architecture, and influence multiple teams and domains. Familiarity with data engineering concepts is valuable, but backend systems, service design, and distributed systems are the core competencies.

You will function as a technical authority and force multiplier—guiding design decisions, setting standards, and ensuring Autodesk’s core data services are reliable, resilient, and evolvable over time.

Responsibilities

  • Provide principal-level technical leadership across multiple backend and platform teams, shaping architecture and technical strategy beyond a single squad or service

  • Author and evolve critical backend systems and APIs, ensuring they meet long-term scalability, reliability, and extensibility goals

  • Lead design of distributed, event-driven systems, addressing consistency, ordering, failure handling, replay, idempotency, rate limiting, and backpressure

  • Establish and drive service and API standards across domains, including schema design, versioning strategies, backward compatibility, and consumer experience

  • Act as a technical decision-maker for cross-team initiatives; evaluate tradeoffs and make durable architectural choices aligned with business priorities

  • Drive operational excellence across systems you influence: observability, alerting strategy, incident response, post-incident learning, and systemic remediation

  • Introduce and reinforce engineering best practices for design reviews, code quality, testing, CI/CD, and production readiness across multiple teams

  • Mentor senior engineers and emerging technical leaders; raise the bar through influence, example, and coaching rather than direct management

  • Partner deeply with product, data, and platform leaders to translate ambiguous business problems into clear, actionable technical solutions

  • Remain hands-on where impact is highest: complex system design, critical implementations, architectural refactors, and high-severity incident resolution

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant depth in backend and distributed systems

  • Demonstrated expertise building and operating backend services and APIs in production environments at scale

  • Strong experience with distributed systems design, including asynchronous processing, messaging, eventual consistency, and fault tolerance

  • Deep hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures (compute, storage, messaging, IAM, observability, scaling patterns)

  • Proven ownership of mission-critical systems, including design accountability, operational responsibility, and long-term maintainability

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals: system design, service-level data modeling, API design, automated testing, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code

  • Track record of influencing architecture and engineering outcomes across multiple teams without formal authority

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building enterprise platform services consumed by many internal and/or external teams

  • Familiarity with data engineering or data platform ecosystems (e.g., streaming pipelines, data warehouses such as Snowflake) as a producer or advanced consumer of data services

  • Experience with event streaming and messaging platforms (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, or equivalents)

  • Background in domains such as master data management, identity resolution, data enrichment, or data quality

  • Experience integrating backend services with analytics, search/indexing, or ML/AI platforms

  • Prior experience operating in large, complex organizations where systems span multiple teams, regions, and  business units

Senior / Principal Research Engineer, Foundation Model Systems

Position Overview

The work we do at Autodesk touches nearly every person on the planet. By creating software tools for making buildings, machines, and even the latest movies, we influence and empower some of the most creative people in the world to solve problems that matter. Autodesk is seeking a Senior / Principal Research Engineer, Foundation Model Systems to help scale the next generation of foundation models trained on Autodesk-native design and make data. In this role, you will work at the intersection of research and engineering to build, optimize, and evolve the systems that power large-scale training, post-training, evaluation, deployment, and inference for foundation models. This is a deeply technical role for an engineer who understands how model capability, system design, and infrastructure efficiency interact. You will help researchers train and iterate faster, improve utilization of compute resources, scale distributed training pipelines, and optimize inference systems for latency, throughput, reliability, and cost. You will also help strengthen the surrounding ML platform capabilities required for reproducibility, observability, lineage, governance, and production readiness. This role is central to Autodesk’s broader foundation model strategy, which depends on scaling shared models trained on structured Design and Make data and turning them into reusable capabilities across products and workflows.

Location: US or Canada Remote

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, and optimize large-scale training systems for foundation models, including pre-training, fine-tuning, and post-training workflows
  • Improve distributed training performance across data, tensor, model, and pipeline parallelism strategies
  • Scale and optimize training pipelines for throughput, stability, memory efficiency, checkpointing, and experiment velocity
  • Design and improve inference systems for low latency, high throughput, high reliability, and cost-efficient serving
  • Develop and operationalize techniques such as batching, scheduling, KV cache optimization, quantization, speculative decoding, Flash Attention, and memory-efficient serving
  • Partner closely with researchers to turn promising modeling work into scalable, repeatable engineering systems
  • Evaluate and adopt the right optimization and scaling frameworks for different model sizes and workloads
  • Build robust evaluation, profiling, and benchmarking workflows to guide decisions around scaling, architecture, and ROI
  • Improve observability, model performance monitoring, prediction logging, lineage, and debugging across training and inference systems
  • Contribute to deployment workflows, model lifecycle tooling, and production ML infrastructure
  • Strengthen engineering practices across testing, CI/CD, reliability, release readiness, and incident response for ML systems
  • Collaborate across research, platform, product, and infrastructure teams to align technical investments with product and business goals

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent
  • Industry Experience
  • Strong experience building and operating large-scale machine learning systems in production or research-to-production environments
  • Deep experience with distributed systems and distributed training for deep learning workloads
  • Strong proficiency in Python and strong software engineering fundamentals
  • Experience with PyTorch and modern large-model training stacks
  • Experience with at least some of the following: FSDP, DeepSpeed, Megatron-LM, DDP, tensor parallelism, pipeline parallelism, or equivalent approaches
  • Experience optimizing training performance, GPU utilization, memory footprint, and iteration speed
  • Experience designing or operating inference systems for production ML workloads
  • Experience with cloud and cluster environments, containers, CI/CD, and modern infrastructure practices
  • Experience with monitoring, profiling, logging, and observability for ML systems
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across research and engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience scaling foundation model or large-model training pipelines
  • Experience with RLHF, RL-based post-training, preference optimization, or other alignment / post-training workflows
  • Experience with inference frameworks and runtimes such as vLLM, TensorRT-LLM, TGI, Ray Serve, or equivalent systems
  • Experience with distributed data processing and orchestration systems such as Ray, Airflow, Spark, or similar platforms
  • Experience with model deployment, inference services, monitoring, and observability for production ML systems
  • Experience with data lineage, provenance, governance, and responsible data usage in ML systems
  • Experience building data pipelines for large-scale structured and semi-structured technical datasets
  • Experience building ML-ready representations for geometry, graph, hierarchical, or multimodal data
  • Experience profiling and optimizing long-context or memory-intensive transformer workloads
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, experiment tracking systems, model registries, and reproducible ML workflows
  • Familiarity with CAD, BIM, AEC, manufacturing, simulation, or other complex technical design domains is a plus

The Ideal Candidate

  • Is equally comfortable talking to research scientists and platform engineers
  • Thinks in systems, not just models
  • Understands that scaling is a multi-dimensional problem involving compute, performance, latency, throughput, cost, and operational complexity
  • Can move fluidly between hands-on debugging, architectural design, and longer-term platform thinking
  • Brings strong judgment on when to optimize the current stack and when to evolve the stack
  • Cares deeply about turning research capabilities into durable, reusable engineering systems
