Optics Group Lead

What you'll do

• Lead a team of over 15 technicians to manufacture high-quality precision optics during night shifts.
• Manage daily production schedules while ensuring on-time delivery and meeting key performance indicators like first pass yield.
• Coach and mentor team members through performance reviews, professional development plans, and technical skill training.
• Partner with engineers to implement continuous improvement initiatives and industrialize new products or processes.
• Resolve manufacturing bottlenecks and develop recovery plans for any production deviations or quality issues.
• Ensure compliance with 5S safety standards and company policies in a controlled cleanroom environment.
• Perform administrative duties including timekeeping, performance evaluations, and coordinating with HR on hiring or disciplinary matters.

What we're looking for

• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor degree in a science or engineering field (preferred).
• At least 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience in manufacturing or a related field.
• 5 years of direct optics fabrication experience (preferred).
• Strong manufacturing operation acumen and LEAN manufacturing/Continuous Improvement experience.
• Proficiency with MS Outlook 365 and knowledge of SAP or comparable ERP systems.
• Familiarity with ISO9001 and ISO14001, including experience in an ISO certified environment (desired).
• Must be legally authorized to access controlled technology as defined by U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
