VP, Container Engineering

What you'll do

• Own the strategy, architecture, and operations of the Amazon EKS container platform across a multi-account landing zone.
• Define the multi-year roadmap for cluster topology, service mesh, GitOps integration, and expansion into ECS or OpenShift.
• Partner with FinOps teams to implement cost-efficiency measures like Karpenter, Spot instances, and automated cost-anomaly detection.
• Develop a self-service "paved road" experience for application teams using Terraform/Helm modules and internal developer platforms.
• Integrate agentic AI capabilities into the engineering workflow and the container platform's self-service features.
• Manage and mentor a globally distributed team of engineers across the US and India, handling hiring and performance management.
• Act as a player-coach by performing hands-on code reviews, infrastructure updates, and serving as an incident commander.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to align roadmaps and resolve blockers across security, networking, and infrastructure teams.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of progressive technical experience including 5+ years in cloud infrastructure or platform engineering leadership.
• 5+ years of hands-on production AWS experience in a multi-account landing zone.
• 4+ years of experience authoring production Terraform code within a private module ecosystem using Terraform Cloud and GitHub Actions.
• 4+ years of experience operating Amazon EKS at scale with Terraform and Helm.
• 1+ year of experience as a direct people manager or technical team lead for teams of 5+ engineers.
• 5+ years of experience leading and participating in 24x7 production on-call rotations in regulated environments.
• Preferred certifications include CKA, CKS, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, or HashiCorp Terraform Associate.
