Vice President, Data Modernization - Data Readiness & Metadata Standards

What you'll do

• Drive adoption of the enterprise data readiness framework across multiple business units.
• Define standards for business, technical, and operational metadata to improve data discoverability and trust.
• Establish semantic and context standards to ensure consistent data reuse in analytics and AI systems.
• Profile priority domains to identify and resolve gaps in definition, lineage, and data quality.
• Convert one-off data fixes into repeatable, scalable enrichment patterns for the organization.
• Build prototypes that demonstrate improved data readiness for conversational and agentic AI experiences.
• Manage readiness scorecards and KPIs to provide measurable progress for executive updates and roadmap decisions.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, scientific, or technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Seven years of relevant experience in data science, data management, data governance, data quality, or analytics engineering.
• Deep knowledge of metadata management and data catalog tools focusing on discoverability, lineage, and interpretability.
• Hands-on experience with structured and unstructured data at scale, including profiling, cleansing, and standardizing large datasets.
• Strong command of SQL skills and analytical problem-solving for root-cause investigation across large volumes.
• Understanding of ontology and semantic layers to improve data reuse in analytics and AI systems.
• Experience collaborating across product, engineering, and business teams in a regulated environment with clear communication for senior stakeholders.
• Experience in consumer banking, scripting/Python skills, or exposure to generative AI concepts (preferred).
