Associate Director, Data Governance, FAIR, and AI-Readiness

What you'll do

• Lead the enterprise strategy and roadmap for Data Governance, FAIR principles, and data product operating models.
• Establish a value-realization framework to measure business outcomes and return on investment for data initiatives.
• Execute the Enterprise Data Strategy including lifecycle management, data contracts, and ownership structures.
• Develop a federated governance model with clear decision rights, stewardship accountabilities, and data standards.
• Advance FAIR maturity by embedding metadata standards, persistent identifiers, and controlled vocabularies into the data lifecycle.
• Enhance discovery and interoperability through active metadata, data catalogs, lineage, and knowledge graph capabilities.
• Define and enforce policies for data quality, privacy, security, and readiness for AI-enabled use cases.
• Serve as a data engagement lead to drive adoption of management practices across specific business functions.

What we're looking for

• A Doctorate degree and 2 years of experience in Data Management or Information Systems are required.
• A Master’s degree and 6 years of experience in Data Management or Information Systems are required.
• A Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience in Data Management or Information Systems are required.
• An Associate degree and 10 years of experience in Data Management or Information Systems are required.
• Experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry with an understanding of regulated data and compliance is required.
• Demonstrated leadership of enterprise data governance, active metadata, data quality, or data product initiatives is required.
• Hands-on understanding of FAIR data principles and their practical application through metadata, standards, and interoperability is required.
• Experience implementing enterprise data strategy, scaling FAIR, and managing data products or contracts is preferred.
