JOB TITLE: Technical Support Engineer As a Technical Support Engineer, you will join a versatile team of engineers and operational experts to maintain a network of simulators and modeling capabilities for military training. You will perform day-to-day operational checks on local air and ground simulation systems, execute preventative maintenance, and support training in live, virtual, and constructive environments. Your responsibilities include troubleshooting Tier 1-3 issues, performing hardware installs, managing software releases, and developing configuration management processes for geographically separated systems. You will utilize Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems to support complex networked distributed systems. The role requires skills in technical documentation, network troubleshooting, and collaborating with DoD personnel. You will operate within an Agile Scrum team to improve system functionality and maintain compliance with current training requirements.

What you'll do

Perform day-to-day operational checks for local and outstation air and ground simulation systems.
Execute preventative maintenance tasks on simulators and associated simulator systems.
Operate the virtual environment to facilitate large-scale training exercises for military personnel.
Build and install new simulators and networks to expand simulation capabilities.
Develop configuration management processes to ensure geographically separated systems maintain training compliance.
Perform Tier 1-3 troubleshooting during operations to resolve network and operating system issues.
Identify and track system deficiencies to improve overall functionality and performance.
Create technical documentation to support system maintenance and operational requirements.

What we're looking for

High school diploma or GED.
TS/SCI security clearance.
Experience working on complex networked distributed systems.
Experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.
Experience supporting and collaborating with DoD operational personnel.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with basic network and operating systems.
Ability to create technical documentation.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Experience supporting distributed mission operations training (preferred).
Experience with programming or scripting languages (preferred).
Experience with firewalls (preferred).
Experience with ACAS (preferred).
Experience implementing STIGS (preferred).
Knowledge of Image Generator (IG) and Constructive Force Generator (CGF) programs such as MACE and VRSG (preferred).
