What you'll do

  • Represent Qualcomm as a delegate in various technical standards forums and industry organizations.
  • Identify emerging firmware and software standards for data center systems across server, edge, and accelerator platforms.
  • Develop and promote industry standards in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Formulate and execute the corporate strategy for data center standards.
  • Work with attorneys to file patents that protect novel intellectual property from new inventions.
  • Analyze domestic and international competitor strengths and weaknesses within the data center landscape.
  • Monitor and influence the development of open-source software and licensing models.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and 8+ years of experience, OR Master's degree and 7+ years, OR PhD and 6+ years.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering and open-source development focusing on Firmware, Kernel, and Operating systems in Arm or RISC-V ISA systems.
  • 4+ years of experience with technical standards bodies or industry organizations such as UEFI Forum, OCP, Linux Foundation, JEDEC, ISO, PCIe, IEEE, or DMTF.
  • Strong networking and influencing skills.
  • Strong documentation, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in open-source software development is a must.
  • Knowledge of UEFI, drivers, kernel virtualization, hypervisor, systems management, network management, compiler, toolchain, and QEMU (preferred).
  • Experience with data center technologies, international landscapes, or research communities (preferred).
