ARM Server Platform I/O & Interconnect Software Architect (PCIe, CXL & Interrupt Architecture) joins the Datacenter Software Organization to lead the architecture and software enablement of PCIe, CXL, and Interrupt Controller subsystems for next-generation ARM server SoCs. The role involves defining scalable software architectures across silicon, firmware, virtualization, operating systems, and cloud software stacks to ensure high performance, reliability, and ecosystem compliance for hyperscale datacenter deployments. Key responsibilities include driving requirements for UEFI/EDK2, Arm Trusted Firmware, OpenBMC, Linux Kernel, and KVM/Hypervisors while ensuring alignment with ARM SBSA, PCI-SIG, CXL Consortium, and ACPI specifications. The candidate will utilize expertise in C, C++, Java, or Python to manage technical leadership across hardware and software teams. This role solves critical infrastructure challenges by enabling production-ready platforms for modern datacenter workloads through advanced interconnect technologies and robust system-level debug and telemetry strategies.
Own the software architecture for PCIe, CXL, and Interrupt Controller subsystems across ARM server platforms.
Drive software enablement across firmware (UEFI, TF-A) and high-level operating system components like Linux and KVM.
Define platform requirements to ensure compliance with industry standards such as ARM SBSA, PCI-SIG, and CXL specifications.
Lead architecture reviews to drive software-first design decisions into silicon, firmware, and platform design teams.
Partner with performance and RAS teams to define system-level debug, telemetry, and error handling strategies.
Drive upstream-first development and collaborate with the open-source community to ensure long-term maintainability.
Engage with hyperscale customers and partners to review architectural solutions and support platform commercialization.
Prepare and present technical roadmaps and design specifications for internal and external stakeholders.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 8+ years of experience, OR Master's with 7+ years, OR PhD with 6+ years.
4+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
Strong understanding of ARM64 server architecture and modern server platform design (preferred).
Hands-on experience with PCIe, CXL, ARM GIC interrupt architecture, and IOMMU/SMMU technologies (preferred).
Familiarity with Linux kernel internals, device drivers, KVM virtualization, and platform firmware like UEFI/EDK2 or TF-A (preferred).
10+ years of experience in systems software, platform firmware, operating systems, or SoC architecture (preferred).
15+ years of experience in software development and design for commercially deployed compute platforms (preferred).
Experience with confidential computing, trusted firmware architectures, and upstream Linux development (preferred).
