JOB TITLE: System I&T Engineer, Amazon Leo for Government (ALG), SEIT
The System I&T Engineer joins the Amazon Leo for Government Engineering team to design, integrate, and test innovative solutions for a Low Earth Orbit interconnected satellite communication constellation. Working within the Systems Engineering, Integration, Test, and Manufacturing organization, the engineer develops architectures and executes the build and validation of test systems for complex subsystems. Key responsibilities include creating test procedures, software, APIs, and automation for satellite buses, RF payloads, optical payloads, and custom ground terminals. The role requires developing code in C, C++, Matlab, LabVIEW, Python, Docker, and Rust on Linux platforms. Candidates must utilize electronic lab equipment like network analyzers and oscilloscopes to perform functional and performance testing. This position solves technical challenges in space and terrestrial communication systems to provide high-speed, low-latency internet services.
Develop the architecture and execute the design, build, and validation of test systems for complex satellite and ground subsystems.
Specify and develop end-to-end integration and test plans to validate performance against customer and partner requirements.
Create test algorithms, scripts, automation, and calibration routines for lab and field evaluation of integrated payloads and buses.
Architect and validate test software and hardware for mechanical, optical, and electrical support equipment.
Analyze system and software test data to provide proactive feedback on product performance and potential improvements.
Prepare reports documenting test results, coverage, and key performance indicator metrics for developers and managers.
Manage and track test anomalies, defects, and bugs to closure while performing root-cause analysis in production environments.
What we're looking for
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance of TS/SCI.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or equivalent.
8+ years of experience in space vehicle, bus, RF payload, optical payload, or ground terminal integration and test.
8+ years of experience developing space or communication system test requirements, plans, and procedures for system and software design verification and validation.
6+ years of experience developing code in C, C++, Matlab, LabVIEW, Python, Docker, and Rust on Linux platforms.
5+ years of experience building complex test systems including integrating test software.
5+ years of experience in the use of standard electronic lab test equipment such as network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
